We sat down with Dani and asked a few questions, so you all could get to know her better, giving the best tips and tricks when using lashes.
1. How did you first get into makeup artistry, and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?
When I started to lose my brows and lashes, it really opened my creative side to think outside the box and try makeup techniques that you wouldn’t traditionally see. At first makeup was to disguise and blend in, but now it’s something I use to stand out!
2. What do you find most exciting about collaborating with a brand like Primalash?
Prima are such an established lash brand that I have always loved and used so to be able to bring our creative minds together is so exciting!
3. Can you walk us through your process for selecting the perfect false lashes for different eye shapes?
I really feel like there isn’t set rules on which lash you should wear for your eye shape, I believe it’s more what eye shape you want to create or mimic! For that perfect cat eye look, I always opt for something that is shorter on the inner corner and long on the outer corner, or even half lashes! To make your eyes more open, go for a lash that has the same length throughout the whole strip.
4. What trends are you currently seeing in the false eyelash industry, and how do you incorporate them into your work?
It seems like full lashes are out and half lashes are in! You can always cut a strip lash into two and basically have 2 half lashes. Adding anything to the outer corner of your lashes really elevates any look whether you go for that clean girl aesthetic or full glam.
5. How do you balance creating a natural look with the use of dramatic false lashes?
I love a full lash, paired with clean skin and a soft eye look. If you keep the drama in the lash but keep the rest of the makeup super light, it can really make the eyes the center of attention.
6. What are some common mistakes people make when applying false eyelashes, and how can they avoid them?
I see a lot of people struggle with getting their inner corner to stick. If you double layer the lash glue, you cannot go wrong!
7. How do you approach customizing false lashes for individual clients looks?
I always think about the finished outcome and the eyeshadow look you are pairing the lash with - whatever matches the vibe best!
8. What are your top tips for maintaining and cleaning false eyelashes to ensure they last longer?
I always try to reuse my lashes by removing any glue from the previous use and popping them back in their lash pack so I do not lose any!
9. Can you share a memorable experience or project where false eyelashes played a significant role in the final look?
For me, lashes ALWAYS play a vital role! I do not have any lashes so for me, no look is complete without a lash!
10. How do you stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in makeup and eyelash applications?
There is always some new trick or trend to try out on social media!
